From an idea in Adam's head to Danville's running home — here's how we got here.
2010
The Idea
Adam Jones dreams up a specialty running store for Danville — a place where runners, walkers, and athletes get the time and expertise they deserve. Two years of planning, saving, and believing.
2012
The Doors Open
April 14th, 2012 — The Brick Running & Tri Store opens on Main Street. Albert the dog greets every customer from his bench outside.
2012
The First Group Run
The very next Thursday after opening — 7 people show up. A tradition is born. Every Thursday since, rain or shine, we run together at 6:15pm.
2013
We Time Races
The Brick Event Timing launches. Adam starts directing and timing 5Ks to half marathons across Danville, Clarksville, Rocky Mount, Lynchburg. A decade-plus of helping local runners cross the line.
2015
"We Run the Ville"
Our tagline finds us — "changing Danville one sole at a time." It's more than a slogan. It's what we do.
2016
Love Stories
The first of three couples who meet at our store gets married. Adam officiates one of the weddings. Sometimes you come in for shoes and leave with a spouse.
2019
The Community Grows
Hundreds of runners through our doors. Thousands of miles logged at Thursday night. The shop becomes the heartbeat of Danville's running scene.
2021
Albert Crosses The Rainbow Bridge
Our beloved shop dog passes, but his spirit never leaves. Every photo, every story, every "good boy" still echoes through the store.
2022
Bikes Join The Family
We expand upstairs — full bike shop with service, repairs, and tri-gear. Cannondale bikes, tubes, tune-ups, everything you need to ride.
2024
Wednesday Walks
We add group walks every Wednesday at 5:30pm — because not every journey starts at a run. Everyone's welcome, at any pace.
2026
14 Years Strong
Today — April 14th, 2026. Still family-owned. Still on Main Street. Still here because you kept showing up. Thank you, Danville.
